As you know we love fashion at Madfuncreative. Both Caroline and I love fashion and this no doubt rubs off on our children. They love going shopping and looking at clothes and the latest kids trends. Often when we are with them we ask why they love a certain item of clothing, the replies are varied from 'dad its so cool' or 'mum I love that dress' to 'that top is amazing'.
I think kids today are more exposed to fashion from the internet to simply going into town and seeing whats on the mannequins, to watching their idols be it a sports person or a popstar. Caroline and I encourage our kids to be aware of fashion but we do have limits on what they can choose as not all childrenswear is appropriate.
Last weekend we went shopping and our three munchkins chose a couple of pieces that they wanted to buy. In this blog I have focused on the boys both Caleb and Joshua both chose T-shirts and Caleb especially loved his new jeans from Next. But where to shoot them wearing their new clothes? The Skate park of course because all our kids love going there and practicing their skateboarding and in case of Joshua his scooter.
We shopped in Next, TK Maxx, Sainsburys and my favourite shop Zara which always have the latest trends on show, off we went to the Skatepark to do the photoshoot.
I wanted to shoot Caleb modelling the Hersey T-shirt from TKMaxx with the grey skinny biker jeans from Next and the second look wearing the mono dinosaur T-shirt from Sainsbury's with the skinny jeans. So you will see similar looks, but what a difference two t-shirts can make with the same bottoms.
Look 1...... Caleb is modelling the Hersey T-shirt with the skinny jeans. I love the Tropical T-shirt with the bright tropical florals and leaves on a black ground. The tropical trend is not going away and you will be seeing more of this print trend in both boyswear and menswear this Spring Summer.
Here is a close up detail from the skinny jeans.
Here I have done a Flat lay of the outfit and accessorised with a pair of sunglasses and Adidas trainers.
Look 2.... This look Caleb is wearing his mono dinosaur T-shirt from Tu Clothing at Sainsbury which have a great boyswear collection and at reasonable prices too. The T-shirt was actually designed by Euan who is a very talented graphic designer at Sainsburys. What I like about this look is that you can wear grey tones together and accessorise it with a bright cap and trainers, it just works and Caleb thinks its a 'cool look'.
Joshua chose a graffiti T-shirt from Zara and it reminded me of the graffiti we saw in London last year on the Embankment. So I thought I'd add some of the photos from that trip. I have seen a lot of the hand scribbling and graffiti graphics in stores on menswear too.
Here is Joshua in his graffiti T-shirt.

I hope you liked this blog post and feel inspired to buy some cool T-shirts this summer. We had fun shooting the clothes in the skatepark and I would love to hear any feedback from you guys and if there is anything else regarding childrenswear that we should cover.
