Early Spring Fashion Purchases
Todays post is all about getting ready for Spring. You may be thinking What Spring ? I just survived storm Doris and seeing no sign of spring right now!
Well there are a few little signs, like the daffodils out on my front garden and the tiny snowdrops making beautiful carpets in our countryside. It may be still a little chilly out there, but that sun is making more of an appearance than in recent weeks, it won't be long till we are hanging our winter coats away for a season.
I thought I would share with you a couple of new outfits this one above from Next, I ordered these wide leg jeans and absolutely love them, they sit brilliantly on the waist and feel so comfy for the warmer days to come, a good move away from the super skinny jean.
I've teamed it with my keepsake vintage bag bought for me by davinder as a gift whilst on a vintage hunt in New York. The lip colour is a freebie from Lancome colour L'absolu Rouge.
So we took these pictures in the aftermath tail end of Doris, so I have to apologise for the windswept look of these pictures, after all I am no fashion model, just an ordinary 5ft nothing girl who happens to be a mum and loves fashion and textiles. I just love to share things I enjoy so please only expect the most simple of poses from me. Perhaps I should mention a thank you here to Davinder for getting these shots he was all wrapped up cosy whilst, I was freezing my little self!
The t.shirt also from Next is beautifully embroidered in a lovely colour palette, and looks super stylish with the jeans for a great casual look. Now I have to admit the jeans came with a raw edge, I'd call it a hem but then its not! to be fair I always need to hem most trousers and jeans since my little legs never quite make the fit. but I certainly was not going to cut them shorter leaving a raw edge! for me I love a good neat hem and I'm not about to embrace the raw edge look. Following my blog you will know I have such a love for embroidery so this top was so hard to resist and I love the flattering shape and colours.
Navy blue is certainly my colour being a red head and pale skin, I tend to steer clear of black base colours and feel like Navy just looks more classy for my skin tone. I love the fact that with Next you can order items and pay later, it means you can try a few variations of style and not feel bad about all the expense and only keep what works for you and send the rest back. Its handy when you are not local to a Next store.

These jeans are going to look amazing with so many things and this gorgeous shirt from Boden is an absolute favourite. I've styled it here with my old American eagle brown belt and these old faithful red Joules beads which I love.

Again very wind swept but you get the idea.
I just love this look.
I am such an attention to detail girl and these pretty cuffs with the tiny ruffles are so feminine and sophisticated.
Everything is in the detail with Boden with the contrast red stitched button hole and button. I love the quirky Boden edge to this tailored look.
Even in the back neck of this shirt you get that little dash of colour and tailoring with the grosgrain ribbon trim.
So its just a little taster of my first spring purchases, I've not gone crazy, but I will have more to share in the coming weeks and also do look out for some beautiful homemade looks with my recent sewing adventures.
And since this dropped through my door this morning there may be a few more Boden purchases before the spring has properly arrived.
Yes this brochure even has my name on it! how about that.
