Ice Cream Sundae
Despite us having quite a bit of rain this month it has still been warm. Seeing the fresh strawberries in our local farm shop, that have travelled no further than the fields behind the shop, are all too inviting for me.
Come rain or shine ice cream sundaes are on the agenda.
We bought these lovely tall traditional ice cream glasses for One of our children's birthday parties, we got the kids to add all the ingredients themselves to make a spectacular dessert. It was lots of fun and the kids loved filling their glass with limitless sweet delights.
Its such a simple fun way to make a delicious summer treat and it can still be quite healthy depending on the fillings you choose. As you can see from the images I filled the glass a quarter full with strawberry jelly, then once set added the strawberries. You could add any assortment of fruit at this point.
Crush up some small pieces of meringue leaving just enough space for a scoop of ice cream.
Then add your favourite ice-cream and a chocolate flake. You can also use greek or natural yogurt as a healthy alternative.
And there you have it a super easy but impressive looking summer ice cream sundae.
You can do all kinds of variations on this dessert so why not get yourself some glasses this season and have a go.
