Painting with daddy.......
In an age where Father's work long hours its important that we make special memories with our children. For me its important that I with the help of the kids create these memories so that they last a lifetime. One way that I create a memory and build a bond with Naomi is by painting. She absolutely loves it and can't wait to get the paint brushes out ready to paint whatever comes to mind.
So this last weekend we decided to get the 'watercolour' inks and goauche and paint flowers and in Naomi's case a Parrot. We usually lay the kitchen table with an old oil cloth as not to damage our lovely ikea table. And within in minutes the table is covered in inks, watercolour bowls and our mixing pots ready to start our session. Before we begin we have to have our music in the background and this time it was 'The Best of the Jackson Five Album' which the kids love.
For inspiration we both use photographs that we have either taken or images from books. There is so much resource out there especially on Pintrest. I always say you can never have enough books especially those that inspire you to read or paint. We at Chez Madaher have a growing range of creative books from artists/ interiors/ to designers. Its a resource pool that I constantly refer to.
Full of concentration

This was a great morning for Naomi and I as we share our love for painting. It wasn't just about the painting for me...it was about spending time with this beautiful girl of mine. To chat about whats going on at school, about her day with her friends. To discuss about our dreams and hopes for the future, to visualise all the amazing places we are going to visit in the future from New York to India and the adventures that we will have. We laugh together and share funny stories while we paint and occasionally as I pop my head up and see Naomi painting and chatting away I feel blessed to have her in my life.
